We've had another excellent round of submissions for this edition, Number 7!, of the Virginia Blog Carnival. Thanks to everyone who sent an entry!

Dymphna, of Buckingham, VA, over at Neighborhood of God, examines the contention that the ring finger on a man's hand indicates the level of testosterone in utero and and how that information might be useful.

Well, it seems that the guys with long ring fingers - i.e., high testosterone - are at greater risk for autism, dyslexia, stammering and immune dysfunction. And they are also more likely to father sons. The short ring finger fellows, while somewhat safer from stammering, are left with a higher risk of heart disease and infertility.

J.R. Hoeft, of Hampton Roads, celebrates the birthday of the US Navy. This was especially interesting for me (a Navy brat) to read.

Doug Mataconis at Below The Beltway presents The Nimby's In My Backyard. Doug comments on our local NIMBY population here in Northern Virginia.

Shaula Evans of Richmond, VA wins the prize for Hardest Blog Name To Pronounce with Tsuredzuregusa. Her in-depth review of the Latest Kilgore "Hitler Ad" and the details from the Willie Horton affair are top-notch. Shaula also writes to say:

Bill Emory, emails me from Slabtown, with the posting of a a photo that made me smile the most of anything today. Gorgeous, Bill, just gorgeous.

A man of many riddles, Not Not Alton Foley of Collinsville VA, welcomes Shelly II, a red eared slider.

Brian Patton is is speechless or nearly so after passing the Virginia Bar Exam. Good job, Brian!

Thanks everybody. I cannot explain how great it feels to have passed, so I will not even try. As one might imagine, it feels pretty darn good.
